Contracts Forms?

A common question always comes up as to whether it is safe to purchase forms and agreements from popular office or book stores. The answer depends on what you want to achieve. Selling a $500.00 car may not require and attorney, nor would probably a promisory note for $100.00.

However, when the risk becomes more financially, then you want to onsider whether or not to consult a contracts attorney. For example, in Colorado most people believe that attorney fees are normal when there is a breach of contract. The response is don't believe this. Generally, the contract must address attorney fees or a Colorado statute may allow it. Other than this, you run the risl of a court not allowing attorney fees in a breach of contracts situation. Our firm often see clients who bring in a canned contract  only to find out that it does not have the protection they hoped for. when you purchase generic forms, always pay attention to the disclaimer. It means something.
